We are always pleased to hear from our customers, be it praise or criticism, as we are always aiming to improve your shopping experience as we appreciate your custom. You must not misuse this Website. You will not: commit or encourage a criminal offence; transmit or distribute a virus, or post any other material which is malicious, harmful, or in any way offensive or obscene, hack into our system, corrupt data, send “spam” or attempt to affect the performance or functionality of any computer facilities. Breaching these terms would constitute a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, resulting in you being reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities and have your identity disclosed to them.We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of this Website.
By registering with us and therefore, providing us with personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, email address and any other information required, you agree that all content is true and accurate and is authorised to be stored securely by us or to be used for fraudulent checks. If any of your registration details or information should change, please ensure you update these immediately by logging into your account at the top of any page. We reserve the right to refuse registration at any time and may change registration requirements at any time.
By placing an order with us and receiving a confirmation email, this is not confirmation of acceptance of your order, nor a contract, but of payment. We reserve the right to cancel your order at any time at our discretion. All items are subject to availability and we will inform you as soon as possible if any items in your order are unavailable, resulting in your order being cancelled and refunded.
We reserve the right not to accept your order in any event, including us being unable to obtain authorisation for payment, payments we believe to be fraudulent, shipping restrictions being applied to a particular item, or the item ordered being out of stock. Unaccepted orders will be declined or refunded accordingly. We reserve the right to alter measurements, descriptions and prices at any time. If we discover an error in the price of any goods which you have ordered we will inform you of this as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
Acceptance of your order and completion of the contract between you and Virtual Vintage will be completed once we have sent you a confirmation email of dispatch of your goods.
All prices are double checked before going live, however, in the rare case an item is mispriced, we reserve the right to refuse sale of that particular item and refund your order.
We accept online payments only, including Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Maestro and Paypal.
All prices are inclusive of VAT and are correct at the time of the information being entered into our system. The total cost of the order equals the price of the product(s) ordered plus the delivery charge (European and International orders) Postage to the UK is inclusive. Should the issuer of your payment card refuse or fail to authorise payment for any reason, we cannot be held responsible for any delay or non-delivery of your order. All refused card payments will be declined, cancelled and/or refunded accordingly. Your card will be debited once the order has been accepted.
For international orders or for customers whose debit/credit card is not denominated in GBP, the price charged to the customer will be subject to the exchange rate applied by the customer’s credit or debit card company on the day of process of the order. Virtual Vintage will not be held responsible for any customs charges, import duty, product restrictions and other local requirements enforced. You are solely responsible for clearing the merchandise with your local customs authorities and for paying any dues or duties, customs and local sales taxes enforced by the country selected by you for shipment. We advise all international customers to contact their local customs office prior to shopping with us.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 48 hours when 2nd class delivery is selected at checkout and within 1 working day for 1st class and Next Day delivery. We do not post weekends, bank holidays and public holidays such as Christmas Day.
We aim for all UK orders to reach you within 4-5 working days, and all European and international orders within 10 working days. Please wait 7 and 14 days respectively before querying your order. We will not be held responsible for any delays incurred beyond our control, such as postal strikes. We will not be held responsible for items once they are outside the UK as our tracking service does not cover this far, nor for items which go missing in the post which are being returned to us. For missing items sent by us to you (the customer), a claim can be made by us via Royal Mail 15 days after dispatch. For items being returned to us, a claim must be made by you (the customer). For this reason, we advise you to use a tracking service when returning an item to us. Royal Mail may contact you for further information when processing your claim.
We only accept returns providing your item(s) is returned to us within 7 days of receipt and in the condition in which it was sent, meaning all swing tags must be present and the item free from human and pet hair, make up, deodorant marks and smoke or perfume smells. We advise you to remove all jewellery prior to trying on clothing to prevent snagging and for all footwear to be tried on indoors on a carpeted floor.
We reserve the right to refuse refunds on any items believed to have been worn or damaged. If an item is returned dirty or with an odour (eg. smoke) then we reserve the right to refuse a full refund, or we may choose to cover the cost of dry-cleaning of the item.
You must contact us within 7 days of signing for your order by filling in the returns form on the website, then we will email you, granting a return if we feel you qualify for this. You then have 7 days to return the item. Items returned after the 7 day period has passed, or items which have been returned without prior contact through our returns page (click here) will not be refunded.
All returns fees are at the cost of the customer. We do not provide a free returns system.
We do not refund any postage costs unless the order was cancelled by us, or the item is deemed faulty by us, in which case you will receive a full refund (item cost + initial postage cost paid sending item from us to you).
We will not refund returns costs for small marks or signs of wear as this is to be expected with second hand clothing. All large faults are noted in the item description. Please note, garments are checked thoroughly before sending and we keep detailed images of all of our items for reference.
We cannot be held responsible for items which have become lost in the post, which is why we recommend the use of a reputable tracking service such as Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. All fragile items are packed safely and securely by us, therefore we cannot be held responsible for damaged items once they have left our premises. In the event of a loss of an item sent TO you by us, a claim to Royal Mail will be put forward. Lost returns to us will have to be claimed by you (the customer) via your country’s postal service.
We make every effort to display and describe as accurately as possible the colours of our products, however, colours may vary according to the make and model of your computer, as well as the monitor resolution. We cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product in reality.
All measurements are taken with the item laid flat and are stated in approximate inches, as are the estimated modern day sizes given. We do however, make every effort to ensure that they are as accurate as possible. All sizes indicated are UK sizes. We are not responsible for any items that do not fit you correctly upon delivery which is why we provide measurements and a sizing guide. Items of course, may be returned. Larger items may be pinned on our UK size 8 model to show the appropriate fit on a human form.
We never knowingly sell modern items passed off as vintage as we do extensive research on each item to prevent this from happening. We also know the difference between genuine leather and faux leather, although if ever unsure, will state this.
Condition of vintage clothing
Most of our clothing and accessories will have been previously worn with the exception of deadstock items. Although deadstock is brand new and unworn, it would have been in storage for a number of years, which may result in marks and stains or musty smells. All clothing is laundered apart from dry-clean only items, so do expect musty smells. All large faults will be listed in the item description, with the omittance of some small signs of wear as this is to be expected with second hand items. Returns costs will not be refunded for small marks or items with signs of wear.
